Lusinga, November 27, 2025 – Upemba National Park regrets to announce the passing of one of its staff members, Mr. MUSOKA KIPENEKO Prudence, Second-Class Ranger, registration number 08103. He passed away at the Martin Luther King Hospital (CMMLK) in Lubumbashi during the night of November 26, 2025, following an illness (septic shock resulting from cardiac arrest).
Born in Mitwaba on November 24, 1979, he began his career as a Ranger in 2004 at the Lusinga station. He later served in several patrol posts, including Fubwe, Dikulwe, Pande, Kamibwa, Kapelo, and Kitembwe. In 2018, he worked at the J.A.C.K. Zoo in Lubumbashi before joining Kundelungu National Park, where he held the position of Station Commander.
The valiant ranger was from the territory of Mitwaba, Balomotwa sector, in Haut-Katanga Province. His courage and professional loyalty greatly contributed to the protection and security of Upemba National Park (UNP).
